Meg Vaisey
Assistant Expedition Leader
Meg credits her sense of adventure and the unique opportunity to utilise her skillset as what lead her to joining the Coral Expeditions team in September of 2021. ‘It is a unique opportunity to using my marine science background, develop more maritime skills, travel and learn about the most incredible places on the Australian coastline.’
Before being a member of the Expedition Crew, Meg was studying towards her Bachelor of Coastal and Marine Science degree as well as working in the pearling industry in farms located in the Kimberley and New South Wales. In her role with Coral Expeditions, Meg makes sure the day’s activities run smoothly and are enjoyable for all on board.
‘On the job we make sure everything is prepared and ready to go for all the expeditions, presentations and evening activities. On the expeditions we are responsible for taking photos for the guests, wildlife spotting, providing some interpretation and ensuring our guests are comfortable and assisted where required.’
Meg points to mornings on Porosus Creek, Prince Frederick Harbour and King George River as her highlights of her travels. ‘On a still morning with no wind, the water in both these places is like glass, the reflections are stunning and provides epic conditions for crocodile spotting!’
