Our expeditions appeal to the spirit of adventure in all of us, whether young or old. If you like being at sea, but don’t want to be herded around in a crowd, Coral Expeditions may be your cruise company.

Our ships are designed from the keel up as expedition vessels. With shallow draft and high manoeuvrability, we are able to go closer to shore, into sheltered bays and inlets that larger vessels simply cannot access. With classic promenade decks, outdoor seating and plenty of communal space, our ships allow you to take in the surroundings at your own pace. A much-loved feature of all our ships is a guest Observation Lounge in the bridge, allowing you to take in the operations of the ship.
The destinations are the main attraction. All daily excursions and activities are included in your cruise fare. All our ships carry our exclusively-designed “Xplorer” tenders for easy excursions. Unlike the typical enclosed lifeboat tenders in larger cruise ships, these safari jeeps of the sea are designed for open views and fast transit. In addition, all our ships carry multiple zodiacs for more intrepid exploration. Our expedition staff and lecturers are at the heart of our guest experience. They accompany you ashore from dawn to dusk, looking after you and your safety, and bringing the destination to life, enthusiastically sharing their knowledge with expert interpretation. Our expedition staff transform a pleasant cruise into a learning adventure.
Coral Expeditions’ cuisine is prepared small batch on board, and while the style is down to earth, it reflects high-quality Australian ingredients. Our small ship size allows us to procure fresh local produce wherever we go. All meals, barista-style coffee, soft drinks and a select range of boutique Australian beers and wines are included in your cruise fare. All our ships carry fine Antipodean spirits, including Tasmanian single malt whiskies for an after dinner libation.
We are proud of our uniquely Australian hospitality onboard. Service is professional but not stuffy. Our crew love to serve and interact with guests. They bring a genuine passion to showcase the destinations we visit. Following Australian custom, there is no tipping onboard.
In 2019, we will launch our brand new Australian-flagged expedition ship – the Coral Adventurer. Designed from the ground up to be the most advanced tropical expedition ship in the world, she will operate extended explorations to The Kimberley, Papua New Guinea, Sulawesi and the Spice Islands. While the Coral Adventurer has all the usual features you have come to expect in a Coral Expeditions vessel such as all outside staterooms with en-suite facilities, abundant communal spaces, a wrap-around promenade deck and indoor/outdoor dining spaces, she also boasts some innovative new features. She carries dual Xplorer tenders, allowing more small group excursions. A special research facility allows Coral Adventurer to host scientific missions and other pro-bono projects relevant to the regions we visit. Cuisine and wine are given pride of place with a communal wine tasting table and an ‘open’ galley. A guest elevator and gym round off the new amenities on the Coral Adventurer.
Although her 18-night maiden voyage in April 2019 from Singapore to Darwin, Australia, exploring the Indonesian archipelago is sold out, there are ample opportunities to join Coral Adventurer’s maiden cruising season.
