Taste Tasmanian Cuisine & Wine Onboard

A locally sourced menu and wine list is an important aspect of our expedition planning. While we explore the pristine coastal areas of Tasmania, our team curate daily menus that showcase the local delicacies of Tasmania. Known for delicious seafood, beef and dairy amongst a growing artisanal cuisine culture, Tasmania is a world class tasting tour destination. Our team are excited to feature such high-quality products on our voyages.

We highlight a great selection of locally sourced seafood, beef and dairy.

Bruny Island Oysters
Kick off your journey across Tasmania with an entrée of fresh natural Bruny Island oysters. Enjoy on day one of expedition alongside a range of fresh seafood followed by your choice of main and a delicious dessert. Bruny Island is a premier destination for artisanal foods and beverages from cellar doors to farm gates and within the pristine waters that surround the island.

Oysters

Cape Grim Beef
We offer a selection of Cape Grim Beef, the braised ribs with truffle potato mash, confit cherry reds, fried leek and caramelized onion jus is a hearty favourite. Cape Grim is located in the far northwest corner of Tasmania and the beef is farmed ethically on rich pastures.

Bass Strait Scallops
Dine on Bass Strait scallops seared and served with pea puree, crispy pancetta and mint. As we travel through the Bass Strait on our ‘Circumnavigation of Tasmania’ and ‘Tasmania’s Bass Strait Islands’ voyages, you will encounter the pristine wilds in which these scallops are sourced.

King Island Dairy
Sample King Island cheeses on dipping plates, in soup, cake and filo pie. King Island dairy is produced on lush grasslands in ideal conditions with 100% King Island milk. On our ‘Circumnavigation of Tasmania’ and ‘Tasmania’s Bass Strait Islands’ voyages, we have the opportunity to spend time exploring the island and go for a tasting at King Island Dairy.

These voyages feature a curated collection of beverages and a complimentary special selection of wines from Riversdale Estate.

Riversdale Estate Wines

This estate-grown Crux sparkling wine’s palate is driven by single-vineyard Chardonnay with the added richness of Pinot Noir, making for a fantastic depth and creaminess. The Riversdale Chardonnay balances a fresh tropical fruits palate with crisp acidity with long lasting flavour. The Riversdale Pinot Noir features bright cherry and raspberry flavours with a hint of spice and subtle violet notes. Riversdale Estate’s first vines were planted in 1991 and are among the oldest in the region.
