Michael Hermes
Michael studied archaeology and anthropology at the ANU in the 1980’s and then trained as a teacher. He has worked in various educational and heritage roles, including as a teacher in Arnhem Land, heritage specialist with BHP and the Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service and as a lecturer in Cultural Resource Management at the Top End’s Bachelor Institute. He has worked on cultural heritage sites in all states and territories in close consultation with Traditional Owner groups. He has led and participated in a number of study tours through eastern Indonesia, exploring links between the people of Arnhem Land and the Kimberley coast with the Indonesian trading port of Makassar. He has been with Coral since 2015.
