Sales Executive

Coral Expeditions is Australia’s Pioneering Expedition cruise line with over 34 years history of innovative and high quality marine operations.  We currently operate a fleet of 3 Australian flagged small expedition ships with an additional new vessel joining the fleet in April 2019.  Our guests come largely from Australia and we have a growing clientele from key western global markets including North America, UK, Europe and NZ.  Our renowned itineraries include The Kimberley, the Great Barrier Reef, Cape York and Arnhem Land, Tasmania, Papua New Guinea, South Pacific and The Indonesian Islands. 

Purpose:

To support the forward growth of our company, we are looking for two experienced Sales Executives to join the commercial team.  These roles will encompass sales activity with trade, retail, consumer direct and the loyalty database.

Working as an integral part of a small and busy distribution department, the Sales Executive will take responsibility of the day-to-day sales results and bookings pipeline for our cruise itineraries and voyages. These are Cairns based roles and will require regular and frequent travel to domestic regions across the year.

Essential criteria for candidates:

•  A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a sales role with direct and recent experience in cruise and / or related travel industry. Experience in the tourism, hospitality, or leisure sectors is desirable.
•  Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills.
•  A high-quality level of personal presentation and confident communication skills.
•  Strong time management, organisational skills & ability to prioritise tasks.
•  An innate drive to develop business and contribute to a rapidly growing company.
•  A sense of urgency with the ability to stay calm and deliver under pressure.
•  A natural seller, with the ability to build strong relationships and with an existing travel industry network
•  Adaptability to respond to whatever the day brings
•  Well-developed technical and admin skills – able to prepare advanced reports and presentations.

Summary:

Coral Expeditions, Australia’s leading small ship cruise line, has a 34 year history of innovation in expedition cruising.  To manage the market and fleet growth, it is now is looking for an ambitious, digitally savvy marketing professional who can make a mark by growing our brand and distribution network globally.

Purpose:

The Manager, Group Marketing is responsible for promoting the Coral Expeditions brand and product across domestic and international markets, with a view to achieving annual revenue targets.  Our clientele is spread across Australia, New Zealand, UK and Europe and North America.  As a strategist, he/she devises innovative approaches to global advertising and marketing, building on our reputation as Australia’s pioneering cruise line.  This includes working with our external design, advertising and digital and  partners to manage marketing and communications programmes and will act as the guardian of our brand.  As a tactician, he/she administers our annual advertising budget across a diverse portfolio of itineraries and destinations, working closely with the National and International Sales and Distribution Managers on wholesaler and travel trade relationships, and other promotional activities.  As a leader he/she  manages, develops and nurtures the Marketing Executive and the Brand Communications Executive team members.

As a senior manager, the Manager, Group Marketing is a member of Coral Expeditions’ Management Council.

The position is suitable for an accomplished marketing professional who wishes to build a career in a small but growing company living in a tropical location.  Our work environment is informal, collaborative and action-oriented. Essential criteria for candidates:

• At least 8 years of professional experience, with at least 3 years as leader of a consumer marketing function in an Australian company

• Experience in the travel industry desirable, but not essential
• An affinity for design and creative communication
• Comfortable with data and financial / ROI analytics
• Experience with digital marketing
• Comfortable in a small company environment
• Well-developed technical and admin skills – able to prepare advanced reports and presentations.

Commercial Analyst

To cope with market and fleet growth, it is now is looking for a Commercial Analyst who can bring analytical insight to bear to our marketing and distribution functions.

Purpose:

The Commercial Analyst is a newly created role and is responsible for mining our internal systems and industry data to prepare regular and ad-hoc reports for our commercial and executive teams.  This includes collating and presenting business intelligence for our weekly commercial activity, pipeline meetings, new product pricing analyses and forecasting trend analysis.  These reports provide the bases for strategic and tactical decisions on pricing, fleet deployment, terms of trade for our travel trade partners and advertising and promotion.  As such, this position provides the analytical intelligence that allows the company to make better commercial decisions.

The position is suitable for an ambitious data-savvy professional to make a mark on the future direction of the company.  Intellectual curiosity, ability to manipulate large data-sets, recognise patterns, and work independently are critical success factors.  Coral Expeditions offers an informal, collaborative and action-oriented work environment in tropical Cairns, QLD

Financial Accountant

Financial Accountant

Purpose

The Financial Accountant reports to the Assistant Finance Manager with responsibility for preparation of legislative returns including BAS and Payroll Tax reconciliation of data submissions to government as well as support for the operations of the Finance Department.  Located within the Finance department of the Cairns Head Office, the role also encompasses AP and analytical support for the marine operations and sales and marketing teams.  The position liaises directly with relevant stakeholders

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide Analytical support for Cost Accountant
• Provide Analytical support for Assistant Finance Manager
• Prepare monthly BAS/IAS submissions for the group and individual companies.
• Prepare monthly Payroll Tax submissions for each State
• Review and reconcile EMC returns and prepare quarterly report for payment
• Review and submit quarterly QNPWS returns
• Assist with monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Process Invoices for Marine Operations
• Process Invoices for Sales and Marketing Departments
• Reconcile and track Departmental expenditure to Purchase Order

General Office

• Assist with answering incoming telephone calls as required
• Assist at wharf for ship turnarounds as required

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Commerce or equivalent or near finalisation

• Current Drivers’ Licence and qualified to drive manual vehicle

• Physically able to carry out duties involving a moderate degree of manual handling
