The Head of Commercial has the overall responsibility for revenue generation for Coral Expeditions. Our clientele is largely from Australia with a growing interest from Europe and North America. As a strategist, he/she devises innovative approaches to promote the business, building on our reputation as Australia’s pioneering cruise line. This includes responsibility for our market facing distribution and public relations activities, reservation system, pricing, commercial policies, customer database management and charter and other relationships. He/she chairs meetings and leads tactical marketing and commercial initiatives to drive revenue generation. He/she works closely with the Executive Director on branding and advertising.
As a senior manager, the Head of Commercial is second-in-command to the Group GM and is a member of Coral Expeditions’ Management Council. He/she assumes overall responsibility for the business in the Group GM’s absence and is not shy of rolling up sleeves to solve operational issues in a highly regulated, safety conscious business.

What we are looking for:
> At least 12 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years P&L responsibility
> Structured thinker and planner

> Background in travel/hospitality; prior experience in the cruise industry is a distinct advantage
> Comfortable with data and financial analysis
> Comfortable in a small company environment
> Takes primary role in ensuring the company meets its annual revenue targets by managing all occupancy drivers including promotional and marketing activity, and managing pricing
> Oversees Distribution Manager; provides oversight on distribution and reservation functions
> Manages marketing team and provides oversight of all PR and advertising/promotional activity
> Drives engagement with the consumer through the CE website and past passenger database
> Supports Executive Director in building the Coral Expeditions brand
> Acts as counsel and second-in-command to Group GM
We welcome applications from highly motivated travel industry professionals with a minimum of 2 years in a similar role.
We are looking for individuals who enjoy working in a small, fast-paced team environment but also possess the ability to work autonomously.
The successful applicant will possess:
> Experience within retail or wholesale travel, cruise industries or hotels.
> Attention to detail and the ability to retain information.
> Excellent interpersonal skills and a genuine commitment to customer service excellence.
> Ability to build and maintain exceptional relationships with agents and wholesalers.
> Initiative, accuracy and ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment.
> High level computer skills with word, excel, outlook, reservations systems and database applications. Knowledge of Rescompany preferred but not essential.
> Ability to work well under pressure and take directions.
> Contribute towards a positive team environment.
This position includes participation in public holiday rosters. The hours of the Reservation department are 0630hrs to 1830hrs Monday to Friday on a roster basis.

This position is ideal for a motivated, pro-active, food & beverage supervisor/manager role.
> At least 5 years’ experience managing multiple F&B outlets in a reputable regional or international chain (no ship experience required)
> Evidence of progressive responsibility in F&B industry, career progression
> Expertise with F&B menu/list planning; inventory management; ordering systems and training
> Attention to detail (F&B standards, costs and safety)
> Solid Leadership, Management and Organisational skills – communication, problem solving, decision making, planning scheduling and time management
> Ability to work independently and proactively
> Ability to manage multiple projects
> Ability to work and manage various personality types and ranks
> Proficient in computer software including Microsoft Word and Excel, POS and Inventory systems
> Up to date with F&B trends and best practices
> Guest orientated and service minded
> Travel and ability to spend some time on our ships working with the hospitality team
