Award-winning travel writer and photographer Mark Daffey will be joining our Keelung to Manila cruise in October. Mark is a regular contributor to the Traveller (Sydney Morning-Herald, The Age), Escape (Sunday Telegraph, Sunday Herald-Sun) and Explore (Canberra Times, Newcastle Herald, Launceston Examiner) travel liftouts, and his photographs have appeared on Lonely Planet guidebook covers and in the pages of National Geographic Traveller and Good Weekend magazines.
Mark has lived in the Northern Territory, London, Kuwait and Dubai, where his blond, blue-eyed son was born in a maternity ward full of dark-haired Arabs and Indians. He hasn’t definitively tallied the number of countries he’s visited but estimates it would be around the 100 mark. He lists Sri Lanka, Uganda, Western Mongolia, Easter Island (Chile) and Arctic Norway as some of his favourites. He currently lives in Melbourne with his wife and son, close to the friends and family he grew up with.
Mark is a contributing photographer for the Alamy photo library and was formerly a contributor for the Getty Images, Lonely Planet Images and Zefa Pictures libraries. He is a former editor of the Emirates Airline, Australian Hardware Journal and The Wanderer magazines.
