Coral Adventurer Embraces Next-Generation Hull Surface Technology

Coral Adventurer has undergone a major upgrade for a greener future. In addition to the regular maintenance, she is now equipped with state-of-the-art hull surface technology, making her more eco-friendly and fuel-efficient.

The secret behind this transformation is XGIT-FUEL, a revolutionary hull coating developed by GIT Coatings. Unlike traditional coatings, XGIT-FUEL lasts about ten years, cutting down on maintenance time and keeping performance consistent. Made with graphene, it not only saves fuel but also helps the environment by getting rid of harmful antifouling agents.

But the improvements don’t stop there. Coral Adventurer now also has XGIT-PROP, a graphene-based coating for its propellers. Studies show it could reduce fuel use by up to 4%, making the ship even more efficient and environmentally friendly.

These upgrades aren’t just about performance—they represent a big change towards sustainability in the shipping industry. As the first Australian ship to use GIT Coatings’ technology, Coral Adventurer is leading the charge towards a brighter future for maritime technology.
